Right now, pretty much everything is happening online. Work meetings, classes and yes, even concerts! Artists all over the world are uploading performances that we can all enjoy while we’re stuck inside. However, if you’re getting bored with just posting songs, or just want to do something different, here are some ideas!

First, do a Q & A session! Fans will love hearing you talk about your music, your influences and whatever else might come up. It will also be a great way to connect with them while you can’t do live shows. If you’re looking for a way to make some money right now, you could also charge for the Q and A session. This makes it more intimate and personal, and many fans will jump at the chance to get some face-to-face time with you!

Behind the scenes videos are also a great idea! You can show fans what sort of equipment you use to record or your favorite guitar to play. You could also take fans through a song line-by-line and explain the stories behind some of your songs. If you’re working on something new, maybe stream some parts of the process! This will build excitement for your song, while still keeping it under wraps until release.

A way to really engage fans is to stream some sort of workshop or lesson. Whether that’s a simple piano tutorial or a step-by-step video explaining the basics of ProTools, fans will be excited to learn something new – especially from one of their favorite artists!

Live streams are how many musicians are staying connected with their fans right now, and it’s also a great way to make a little extra revenue while you can’t do shows. Charging for any of these streams is totally fair, and something that many artists do. Make sure to keep your videos light and casual; you want fans to feel like you’re talking to them, not to a camera.

So, start streaming and let us know which ideas worked for you!
